Please read Dr. Geller’s article in the Journal of Biomedical Informatics titled, “Visual Comprehension and Orientation into the COVID-19 CIDO Ontology.“
The frantic worldwide search for mediations and vaccines for the COVID-19 infection would greatly benefit from a COVID-19 standard reference ontology for this extensive research. Several COVID-19 ontologies exist already. Most of them are accessible through the NCBO BioPortal. The largest is the Coronavirus Infectious Disease Ontology (CIDO) (6,938 concepts in February 2021), which was created to provide a standardized representation of various coronavirus infectious diseases.
