The COVID-19 pandemic is generating concerns about the long-term impact on health disparities in minority communities resulting in fear that Black-owned physician’s offices will be among the 41 percent of Black-owned businesses that may not survive. Two Rutgers New Jersey Medical School experts – associate professor Natalie E. Roche and assistant professor Damali Campbell-Oparaji, president of the New Jersey Medical Association (NJMA) – discuss how this could affect primary care access in minority communities and what impact the pandemic is having in those communities.
