In-person clinical trials have been essential for medical researchers. Participants would travel to hospitals or research centers, fill out paperwork, and meet one-on-one with clinicians — until the coronavirus pandemic impeded those efforts. Many clinical trials have since become virtual, which may be considered advantageous, as more people can partake without the hassles.
