Promoting researcher diversity is important from an equity perspective, and widening the range of contributing viewpoints is also crucial for scientific progress. Geographic location of researchers’ institutions is one dimension along which diversity should be assessed, especially for HIV/AIDS, given the pandemic disproportionally affects countries that have lower national incomes. We searched PubMed for randomized control trials (RCTs) with HIV status or viral load as an outcome published from January 2019 to April 2021. We focused on RCTs as they are often considered to generate the best ‘gold standard’ evidence and may also be considered the most important from a funder’s perspective as they generally require the most resources to implement. We searched titles and abstracts and excluded nonrandomized designs, pilot studies, and articles that were not original research.  To read the full article.
