Ensuring that new medications, industrial chemicals, food additives, personal care products and cosmetics are safe to use and effective is absolutely essential. To help with this process, there are risk assessment approaches used by toxicologists.
If you are interested in learning about these risk assessment approaches, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) invites you to attend a virtual Risk Assessment Bootcamp. The Bootcamp will cover topics including: risk analysis, systematic review, weight of evidence, hazard identification, susceptible populations, exposure pathways, point-of-departure, reference values, and more. Case studies and hands-on exercises will provide real world scenarios for application of content.
The Bootcamp is being held for 8 two-hour sessions, January 4-7 and 11-14. There is no cost to participate in the Bootcamp.
The Bootcamp is open to undergraduates, graduate/professional students, and postdocs/residents/fellows. Requirements include: 1) having taken at least one basic course in toxicology and 2) being available for all 8 sessions.
