The Division of Student Affairs Health and Wellness Committee and Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education offers free Mental Health First Aid Training to Rutgers faculty, staff, and students beginning in February through June. This interactive, skills-based course teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues to increase mental health literacy and the ability to recognize when someone may need assistance with a mental health issue.
Rutgers Health Outreach, Promotion, and Education will facilitate the Campus Connect Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training open to faculty, staff, and students. This free two-hour training will provide information about mental health, suicide, and risk factors as well as the skills to recognize an individual in crisis, initiate a conversation and, ultimately, a referral to the university mental health support service. Training workshops will be offered every month through June. Register for a workshop.
