This year’s ACTS conference was held in Washington, DC. NJ ACTS had three TL1 Fellows that took top honors. We congratulate them on their achievements!

Courtney McDermott was named the ACTS Outstanding Trainee for the Pre-Doctoral Scholar Award. McDermott is exploring “Early life antibiotic exposure and genetic risk in neurodevelopmental disorders: Effects on the gut microbiome, neurogenesis, and behavior”.

Andrew Guarnaccia is a Post-Doctoral Scholar exploring “Cancer treatment using CD/5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) GDEPT”. Guarnaccia received a first place ribbon for his poster presentation, scoring the highest possible rating from all the judges!

Sarah Lundell is a Pre-Doctoral Scholar exploring “Mechanisms regulating differential transmissibility of clinical strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis”. Lundell received a first place ribbon for her poster presentation, scoring the highest possible rating from all the judges!
