RBHS Instructor, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School
Sarah Fadem, PhD, is an Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her research integrates person-centered communication, design methods, and implementation science.
Dr. Fadem received her Master’s degree in Integrated Product Design from the University of Pennsylvania, an interdisciplinary program that combines design, engineering, and business, and her doctorate in health communication and practical theory from Rutgers University. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Fadem applied co-design principles to explore context-sensitive solutions that integrate with clinical workflows, including implementing integrated behavioral health in pediatric primary care and the development and implementation of an EHR-integrated intervention to improve breast cancer follow-up care in primary care practices. Her recent work focuses on the unique needs of early-onset breast cancer survivors and the potential for technology to facilitate support in managing late/long-term treatment effects.
As part of her K12 award, Dr. Fadem will use real-world data to investigate treatment and surveillance patterns to identify gaps in cardiovascular disease risk management for early-onset breast cancer survivors.
