Nancy E. Reichman, PhD, MBA is a Professor of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and has maintained a Visiting Professorship in the Department of Economics at Princeton University for many years.  Dr. Reichman is a health economist with a broad portfolio of research focusing on linkages between socioeconomic status and health, including studies of determinants of infant and child health, effects of child health on family resources, sources of health disparities, and effects of public policies and other contexts on child and family well-being.  She is currently PrincipaI Investigator on two large projects funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. One project is investigating effects of welfare reform in the U.S., which dramatically reduced cash assistance to poor unmarried mothers and required them to work, on behaviors of their adolescent children (e.g., delinquency and substance use). The other is investigating effects of elective deliveries on neonatal morbidities and child development.
